What is IBÁ Mezcal?

IBÁ Mezcal six bottle collection from Oaxaca Mexico

FIRST THINGS FIRST

It’s pronounced “ee-Bah.”

Not “eye-bah.”
Not “ibb-uh.”
Definitely not “I-B-A.”

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s talk about what IBÁ actually is… because it’s certainly not just another mezcal from Oaxaca.

And trust us, there are a lot of those.

WHAT MAKES IBÁ DIFFERENT?

IBÁ is handcrafted mezcal that was created with real intent. The lineup includes six super-premium expressions, all produced in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, the world capital of mezcal.

But geography is only part of the story.

Because while Oaxaca gives IBÁ roots, it’s the taste, smoothness, overall drinkability, and complexity of IBÁ itself that makes it completely different from other mezcals.

Smooth enough for newcomers.
Layered enough for purists.
Complex enough to keep revealing something new every time you sip it.

That doesn’t happen by accident.

THE NAME ACTUALLY MEANS SOMETHING

IBÁ translates loosely to “heavens” or “skies” in Zapotec, an Indigenous language of Southern Mexico.

That idea shapes everything about the brand.

The bottle colors represent the evolving hues of the Oaxacan sky from dawn until midnight.

Dawn blues.
Sunrise reds.
Midday greens.
Golden late afternoons.
Deep blue dusk.
Dark grey evenings.

The sky in Oaxaca changes constantly. So does the experience of drinking great mezcal.

Like the skies above Oaxaca, IBÁ is all about the journey. Not just the journey of the mezcal, but celebrating life’s journey itself.

Coincidence? Not even a little.

WHY IBÁ DRINKS SO DIFFERENTLY

Here’s where things get interesting.

Most mezcal leans hard into smoke. Sometimes so hard that smoke is all you get.

IBÁ was built differently.

Our proprietary production process was designed to create what we believe is the smoothest, most complex, and layered mezcal anywhere.

That means:

More balance.
More expression.
More complexity.
More smoothness.

More drinkability.

You still get the soul of mezcal. The earth. The fire. The agave.

But instead of punching you in the face with smoke and a harsh kick, IBÁ opens up in layers and finishes smooth.

Sip it slowly and it evolves: fruit, minerals, citrus, roasted agave, florals, spice, smoke, warmth.

Sometimes all in the same pour.

SIX EXPRESSIONS. SIX DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES.

IBÁ includes six distinct expressions, each crafted for a different mood, palate, or moment.

Espadín Joven

Bright, smooth, and incredibly versatile.
The perfect introduction to premium mezcal.

Frutos Rojos

Naturally distilled with red fruits for a layered, vibrant experience that somehow feels both playful and sophisticated.

Cítricos

Fresh citrus character balanced against earthy agave depth.
Dangerously easy to sip.

Ensamble

A more layered and contemplative expression combining multiple agaves for added complexity.

Jabalí

Wild agave. Rare. Bold. Untamed.
Up to 18 years just for growing.
Not here to behave.

Tepeztate

The marathon runner of agaves. Wild harvested after roughly 25 years of growth. Deep, expressive, and unforgettable.

MADE IN OAXACA. built TO STAND APART.

Yes, IBÁ comes from Oaxaca.
Yes, it’s produced in Matatlán.
Yes, it honors traditional mezcal craftsmanship.

But IBÁ was never created to blend in with the thousands of other mezcals on the shelf.

It was created to redefine what people expect from mezcal.

Smoother.
More expressive.
More approachable.
More unforgettable.

The kind of mezcal that makes someone stop mid-sip and say:

“Wait… what is this?”

SO… HOW SHOULD YOU DRINK IT?

Honestly?

However you want.

Neat.
In a cocktail.
From a copita.
From a veladora.
By a fire.
On a rooftop.
At a dinner party that got unexpectedly out of hand.

Just don’t down it as a shot. We beg you.

THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT

IBÁ isn’t trying to be louder than every other mezcal.

It doesn’t need to be.

Because once you taste it, you get it.

The smoothness.
The layers.
The complexity.
The balance.

Oaxaca gave it heritage.
IBÁ gave it identity.
